Role-Based Access Control in Oracle E-Business Suite and in the Cloud
by Susan Behn
Session ID: PRO1294
Room: Moscone South – Room 155
Date: 10/25/18
Start Time: 02:00:00 PM
End Time: 02:45:00 PM
Role-based access control (RBAC) is the security model for cloud ERP in which a user is “granted” a job or position, and when the position changes, that role is automatically end-dated and a new role is automatically assigned. In Oracle E-Business Suite R12, this functionality is less mature but rapidly improving with each patch set. This session explores the building blocks for grants and permissions in Oracle E-Business Suite and then dives into how this system is the basis for the security model in the cloud. See a side-by-side comparison of Oracle E-Business Suite and cloud RBAC functionality.

When it comes to support services, Oracle acknowledges that you have many considerations and may be looking at alternatives including third-party support providers for enterprise software. However, these options can limit your support deliverables and present some inherent risks. In this session learn about the details, do your diligence, and hear perspectives directly from customers regarding why they continue to invest with Oracle to protect their software and systems. This session features a customer discussion led by IDC and explores how Oracle Premier Support provides customers with ongoing security, compliance, and governance, as well as trusted expertise and comprehensive support.
