Due to multiple acquisitions, clients can wind up with multiple disparate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Typically, the head office needs to aggregate and report financial and other data stored in various ERP systems. It is also important to do Master Data Management (MDM) for customers, suppliers, and others. Organizations with multiple ERPs face several issues when trying to gain an overall view of the organization’s data. Problems can be as simple as not knowing how much was spent per vendor (leading to not getting the best discounts). Or spending too much on hedging foreign currencies as one system is paying out foreign currency, and the other is collecting in that currency. While these are the parts of the Iceberg above the water, a unified ERP overview will solve several issues that you may not realize.
